WRC Croatia Rally with 20 speed tests on 300 kilometers of local roads of Karlovac, Krapina-Zagorje and Zagreb counties, and the City of Zagreb, the best rally drivers of today showed their skills. The sports spectacle and recordings from Croatia toured 150 countries around the world, and more than 200 foreign journalists and cameramen visited Croatia, which is the largest number of world media that were present live at a sporting event in Croatia.
Danijel Šaškin and Marin Frčko will tell us how difficult it is to organize such a sports spectacle and how much it helped them to perform and finish one of the most famous and most difficult races of the Rally Paris Dakar. How complex is the organization, how many different teams needed to be coordinated, how did they secure funding, and what obstacles and problems did they need to address?

Daniel Šaškin, author
Daniel Šaškin is a celebrated Croatian rally driver. Particularly successful in Croatian domestic and open rallies. He won domestic Croatian rallies four times, at the Poreč Rally in 2008 in the crew with Damir Bruner, in 2005 at the Martin Rally, Kumrovec Rally 2013, he was on the podium 15 times, he won the race sections 24 times, and with Damir Bruner won 3 times.
He competed in the 41st Dakar Rally with co-driver Saša Bitterman, the first rally in the series to be held in South America. He finished it in 35th place overall and won 4th place in his class. Among the ten stages, there were one third, one second and one first. They were driving an exotic vehicle of the French BBR Team Can Am Maverick X3, which belongs to the category between cars and motorcycles, the so-called «Side by side«. They were part of the CRO Dakar Team in which the mechanic and "tuner" was a trophy Slovenian rally as Darko Pehljan and as an advisor Marin Frčko also a multiple participant in the Dakar rally.
Daniel Šaškin put his idea of organizing the WRC race in Croatia into action in 2021. He was the President of the Organizing Committee of the WRC Croatia.

He initiated Croatian participation in the world's most famous rally competition, the Dakar Rally. He took part in it while Dakar was still riding on authentic routes in North Africa. He competed five times as a co-driver and twice managed to reach the finish line.
At the 41st Dakar Rally, he was part of the CRO Dakar Team, in which Daniel Šaškin and Saša Bitterman successfully finished the race that year.
Along with Danijel Šaškin, he has been involved in the WRC Croatia project from the beginning.
