Goran Jelen was born in 1990 in Varaždin. In 2012, he received his Bachelor's degree in Computing from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) at the University of Zagreb. He continued his education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT) programme at FER, where he received his Master's degree in 2014.In 2014, he joined Ericsson Nikola Tesla as a software developer, where he worked on projects related to ICT-enabled healthcare solutions and machine-to-machine solutions for the automotive industry. From 2018, he continued his career at Infoart. At Infoart he worked in the field of parking and charging solutions for electric vehicles as a Senior Consultant at PayByPhone (owned by Volkswagen Financial Services AG), where he delivered software solutions globally. The software solutions were related to payment, service delivery and data analysis of parking and electric vehicle charging. Together with his work in the "Social Networking and Computing laboratory (socialLAB)" at FER as a Research Associate, he did his PhD thesis in Computer Science.Jelen was awarded the first (2012) and third place (2013) of the Ericsson Nikola Tesla Award for the best student paper in ICT. He published 2 conference papers and 2 journal papers in domain of Computer Science. Currently, Jelen is a senior developer in Infoart working on parking and electric vehicle charging solutions provided in Europe and beyond.
